Pepper Sky

8x12 Oil

This was an experiment with far looser painting than I had been used to. I'm drawn to skies in all their multitudinous glory, always different, always beautiful, even in stormy weather .. and always a challenge to paint.

My reference for “Pepper Sky” was an early Oregon evening, driving from Salem back home to Lake Oswego, just outside of Portland. The radiant dusky sky was so amazingly arranged that I had to stop to take a few photos … and, as usual, ended up taking many!

There will be more sky paintings, hopefully each one better than its predecessor. That's the idea, anyway. Learn by observing. Learn by beginning (the hardest part). Learn by doing. Learn, learn, learn, learn, learn. That’s my life.

Passionate for nature, life, writing and sharing, this site is mutually dedicated to my three favorite vehicles through life - Photography, Writing and Speaking. As professional photographer I was (and still am) in my favored "Observer" mode. As writer, these observations exposed a deeper understanding into ethics, authenticity and leadership. As speaker, I get to be selfish. In giving we gain - big! By helping you to discover your own authenticity, passion and where you too are a leader, I get a huge pang of fulfillment. Yes, I am a giver - the most selfish sort of person that ever was. (that is, once you realize how great the results of giving truly are)
